Turkey Burgers
This recipe was sent to us by Amy Lane, one of our Blogger Mums. Her challenge was to cook a family meal using turkey for under £10. Here’s what she thought:

What we thought:
As a busy mum, I wanted to cook a dish that was quick and easy to prepare and that I knew would go down well with everybody. The turkey burgers were the perfect start to our weekend – delicious, but fun to eat. They went down really well, especially with the children who asked for them again next week! Definitely something we will be making again and again.

Essential Ingredient:
Turkey Mince
(Makes up to 6 burgers)

500g turkey thigh mince

1/2 onion, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

50g wholemeal bread crumbs

1 egg

1 tbsp parsley, chopped (or 1 tsp dried herbs)

salt and pepper

To serve:
Salad, relish and a bun.
A leaner, meaner alternative to beef, this recipe will bring all the boys to the barbecue.
  1. Preheat the grill.
  2. Mix together the turkey mince, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, parsley and seasoning in a large bowl until they are well combined.
  3. Form into 6 burgers, patting them together well.
  4. Grill for 18-20 minutes, turning every so often, until they are well cooked through.
