Turkey thigh joint
Ingredients
750g Turkey thigh joint
1 onion, sliced
200ml water
4 tbsp gravy granules
2 large carrots, sliced or cubed or use several small carrots, washed
300ml cider
1 cooking apple, peeled and sliced
Chopped parsley to garnish

To serve:
Serve with hearty veg.
Really simple and inexpensive.
Method
Heat the casserole saucepan, add the onion with the turkey thigh joint and sear until golden
Dissolve the gravy granules in the water. Add to the casserole
Add the carrots, cider and apple. Bring to the boil and cover
Place in an oven pre-heated to 180ºc (160 ºc Fan) for approximately 2 hours.

So easy to make and delicious. The apple really adds to the sauce - have used both Bramley and eaters and no noticeable difference.

Whole family love this dish. We leave out the onion and use celery instead. Sometimes add potatoes, squash or any root veg. Have used both cooking and eating apples and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Might try using apple juice instead of cider.
